Hi, I’m Ashlei,

A wife and mama with a passion for cultivating beauty and wellness in all areas of life. I’m a Bible-believing christian, homemaker and lover of DIY projects.

I lived in Alaska for 18 years which is where I met and married my husband. We moved to Maine in the fall of 2022 when I was 18 weeks pregnant with our son (and yes, that was a loooong drive).

We bought our fixer-upper farmhouse just in time before he was born. It’s an 1820’s beauty in need of lot’s of love…you can read more about it and see pictures here.

My primary focus in this season of life is as a wife and mama. I spend most of my days at home with my son playing outside, tending to our flock of chickens or sitting in our old truck while he pretends to drive. During naptimes, I work on diy projects, blogging and take an occasional power nap.

I love making healthy and nourishing meals for our family to enjoy together at the dinner table. In the evenings and on weekends my husband and I are busy renovating our home one small project at a time.

I hope this can be a place of encouragement and inspiration as you bring beauty into your home and life!

As always with love, Ashlei

Why I’m Passionate about Beauty and Wellness

Life is full of challenges and sorrows. Some may be tempted to say that cultivating beauty is trivial in light of that, but I do not agree. Beauty inspires. Beauty brings hope. And most importantly, beauty reflects the character and nature of God. Being a curator of beauty is a high and holy calling.

Wellness is another topic I’m passionate about. Since becoming a mom I’ve learned so much in the area of health and natural living. I say I’m “accidentally crunchy” as I didn’t set out on adopting a crunchy lifestyle (does anyone really?) but just sort of stumbled into it. I love sharing what’s been helpful for our family with the hopes that it might be helpful for others as well.

As a homemaker, I have the privilege of being the gatekeeper and curator of my home (which is done alongside my husband). In the area of beauty, we want things that will inspire and reflect the character of God. In the area of wellness, we want things that are life-giving and that promote good health.

And one last thought…both of these areas can certainly become idols and take more thought and attention than is healthy. My desire for my home and what I share here is to always make these pursuits achievable and sustainable.

I owned a small coffee trailer in our tourist town in Alaska which is where I met my husband – oh the wonders of coffee!

I have 6 siblings and they’re all boys

My husband and I ran a Spartan race (an obstacle race) for my 30th birthday and would definitely do it again.

My parents started a church in Alaska which met for several years in our home before renovating our detached garage to serve as our church building.

I used to sell baked goods and handmade crafts at our local Farmer’s Market

My dream is to own a couple dairy cows and start a micro-dairy providing raw milk to people in our community.
